Corus Deeside Archers has had a number of names over its years of shooting, based in Shotton, North Wales.
Shooting began when British Steel opened a social club facility in Shotton. The archery club was one of the first clubs to use the facilities. The club was founded by Mr xxx xxxxxxx, in 1953
In 19xx the club changed its name to British Steel Archery Club. The club has always had a core membership around which the club has survived.
The club is slowly growing under the current committee, as new members join and develop their abilities.
The club has recently changed it name, in line with the change in name of British Steel itself. The club will now be known as Corus (Deeside) Archery Club.
In the last year or so the club has enjoyed an expansion in its membership, with a lot of new members, both experienced and not, joining the club. This is in part down to the excellent job the committee has done in running the club.
